The 17th most popular editor on Windows
Windows Live Movie Maker (codename Sundance) is a video creating/editing software that is a part of Microsoft's Windows Live initiative. It is intended to replace Windows Movie Maker that is currently included in Windows Vista, similar to the way Windows Live Photo Gallery replaces Windows Photo Gallery. Works average.
تو فکرم برم استفاده کنم ببینم چیست، ظاهرش جالبه :دی
For the average user, fine. Compare it to Windows Movie Maker in Vista, it trails so badly. Fine for the average user who wants to add two video clips together, but for a bit more than that, it's rubbish. No timeline scroll, not much control over audio, slow to respond. It's honestly a disappointment!!
Severely lacking in features in comparison to Vista's Movie Maker

simple and easy
I so far been using the Final version for a bit and well i am very pleased with it. I think this is a great video editing software for the average person.
Final version has been released!
Lots of features added people were missing from the XP version ;)
Microsoft is doing to Movie Maker what Apple did to iMovie '08: wiping the slate clean and producing an oversimplified app lacking in the most basic features, like a timeline. What it does, it does well, but there are just too many missing features. It’s like looking at a toothless grin. It does seem like they're adding features piece by piece, though, so maybe this will eventually pay off, like it did with iMovie ’09. But until then, this beta useless for anything but the most basic editing.
On the flipside, it runs smoothly and the ribbon UI is a nice addition.
what are you doing microsoft
Runs well, but as erier2003 mentioned, it's light on the features. However, the Office 2007 inspired interface and smoother performance make it a decent video tool, and the ability to upload straight to YouTube and other services via the same plugins that Windows Live Photo Gallery uses is great!
I would really love for this to have all of the features that its PREDECESSOR had. No timeline? Bad. The fact that it can now import MP4 and other non-Microsoft formats almost redeems it, but I still need to trim clips and drag them around.
This software is too simplistic for me, at least for now. Time will show if it will have more features, but if it's gonna stay this way, I'll stick with Windows Movie Maker or get Sony Vegas or Ulead VideoStudio.
