It makes my desktop look pretty, that's it. The fact that it doesn't slide
out like the Google Sidebar (or heck, ANY other deskbar for that matter) is a
serious flaw. I either have to permanently give up a portion of my horizontal
real estate for it, or I have to go to the desktop to see it. Also, I have yet
to find any gadgets for it that were especially useful...suddenly wondering why
I don't just turn it off...
On Vista the sidebar is very stable and less resource consuming compared to
the Google gadgets or Yahoo widgets I was running on XP. Its loads fast and
doesn't interfere with your general use.
By the way, if you see an obvious fanboy like review like
mrbrightstide...click on their name. Its usually an apple iTard with an
inferiority complex.

I must say I am not particularly fond of the sidebar. I do however like the
gadgets that are part of it. And you know what? You can use those gadgets
directly on your desktop, without actually showing the toolbar itself. So thumbs
up for this one.
I can not believe how bad this really ios.

I always have the Windows Sidebar running with my RSS feeds, local weather and CPU usage.
