It's wayyy better than the XP-and older updaters since you don't need to use crappy IE and go to MS's site to update.
I just wish there was a "STFU and stop asking" button for the restart dialog. I hate it popping up every 4 hours.
So much better than the web based one in XP and previous versions of Windows.
work perfect with out updates too !!!
!@#@&*%!!!!! Blasted software thinks it knows better than me. I can't tell you how many times I've come back to my computer in the morning just to find that this "indespensible tool" has rebooted it for me EVEN THOUGH I HAD A DOZEN APPS RUNNING AT THE TIME!!!!! (Thank heaven for Firefox session recovery.) And there is NO way around it, unless you are willing to forgo the automatic updates (which are more or less announcements to hackers of the holes they can exploit on computers that aren't updated yet, making it both a must have, and a must not have.) I asked MS to do SOMETHING about this once. Little surprise, they are in denial that it is even a problem.
Meh, most of the time I don't have to restart anymore. Good for keeping my boxes up to date with all of microsoft's junk.
nope, always manual for me. Doesn't give you optional and hardware related updates.
uh oh, this is not the place where I should be :O *trys to think of happier thoughts where popups don't bug you every 5 minutes*
Mostly of the time, it does as much good things as it does bad things... so in the end it leaves me where i started, and that's something i don't like :)
With a change in registry settings, Windows doesn't auto restart. Change the “NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers” DWord value to 0. Updates are fun again. Whee.
Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot. Please reboot.
I love it. And rely on it. In vista it's so much better... plus in vista, it doesn't just force a restart which is nice :)
Great until it starts to ask you to restart your computer.. and then if you don't choose anything within 3 minutes, it automatically restarts your computer closing anything that you have open..

What can I say... who doesn't love automatic updates?
