A system tool on Windows

Most of the worms, in particular the most famous, use known vulnerabilities in Windows services which are enabled by default and that can't be disabled via the OS's configuration. Even with these services patched with Microsoft security fixes, they are still exposed to the Internet at large ready to be exploited by the next exploit. These ports/services are DCOM RPC (listen on port 135), RPC Locator (port 445), and eventually NetBIOS (ports 137/138/139) which cause obvious security risks. RPC Locator has first been patched (Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-001), but another exploit has followed (Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-007). These services are useless for personal home use, and can be disabled safely. Since NetBIOS is often used in home LANs, the following tool enables you (by default) to disable NetBIOS to automatically start, and to start it manually in command line (on demand). Of course, you can totally disable it too.
