Good way to protect!
I upgraded to the paid version for $29.95 and it is well worth it! It is a one time lifetime fee and when you highlight a process or task and hit plus info, it is unbelievable how much infomation you get about that item. I love Scottie!
Multi-function app that should be used real time. Very small footprint. Warns you when a program is attempting to install something. Very useful in controlling what is added to your auto start-ups!! User can also use this to modify auto-startups. In addition to apps and processes/services, provides oversight of Active X,IE Helpers and cookies. Free and paid versions. It is one of my must have/must run utilities.
Scotty's worth your money (or you could get the free version) for monitoring your system from any malicious behavior. Very useful to users who are concerned about startup programs, active processes, services, activeX, etc. running on the background of their computers. Note to those who hate pop-up messages, don't try this if your not patient with knowing any changes made to your system.

I feel so safe knowing that little paranoid Scottish terrier is on the lookout in my computer. It barks when it finds things trying to run without permission, and if you know what's going on you can say 'accept' and you'll never see another warning for that item again. Much simpler than UAC.
Probably the easiest thing to have on your computer to warn you about strange start-up additions after a malware incident on your computer - or even without one actually. A must have!
I especially like the start-up notices "Scotty" gives you when you install software you actually want,lol. Really nails Quicktime & Real Player.

I really like this programm because it will tell you immediately if "unwanted" software tries to install on your computer; you have the choice to keep it or to get rid of it.
