    Although fairly multithreaded and a very common format for most Torrents and quite a few Archived files online, Winrar is fairly mediocre in the qualities it brings to the table when it comes to most compression programs. I use it on occasion and only in trial, I usually use another program in it's stead that is either free or open source, and often they come with as much functionality as Winrar.
