The 3rd most popular word processor on Windows
WordPad is a simple word processor that is included with almost all versions of Microsoft Windows from Windows 95 onwards. It is the successor of Windows 3.1's Write. Wordpad in Windows 7 now includes the ribbon user interface.

a serviceable text editor. better than note pad anyway.
Easy way to preview some .docx and .odf documents. With this, no one can say "I couldn't read your document on my word"
meh. iffy.
It's just a quick way to view certain file types, but in Windows 7 the integration with Paint is pretty cool. Silly how it still doesn't feature spell check though, when even internet browsers have featured it for years.
Notepad is decent. Word is great. WordPad is bigger than it needs to be for something that doesn't do much. The only good thing is that it can open files larger than Notepad's maximum file size. Otherwise, I never use it.
Very Nice, Handy.
Useful when you don't have Word.
I hate it, it just is a crappy piece of useless rubbish. How anyone can word process on it is beyond me, with even the lack of simple features such as spell check
Gets the job done for me whenever I'm writing, even though it's lack of spellcheck is a pain sometimes.
Unlike Notepad (Which is a great basic text viewer), WordPad is pretty much worthless. You can get OpenOffice.org for free which does so much more. You can't even spell check in WordPad.
Even the Windows 7 version is worthless, as it is the same program only with the Ribbon. It can be used as a docx/odt viewer though.
Outstanding in it's field, suck on that Notepad! ;)
Sometimes, it's just easier to use Wordpad to fire off a short letter or document than to start up Microsoft Word. Also, Wordpad can handle UNIX line breaks.
Easy and useful.
just staring
simple and useful.
Better than notepad but that's it!
