Fantastic writing tool.
Good, but it doesn't cost 25$.
I use it on Mac just because it's in MacHeist free bundle. PyRoom is same but free!
I think that same apps must be free!
Good, but costs a bit too much.
Pros: No distractions, focus on writing - one of the only apps where features are not essential.
Cons: Lack in focus on output format.
One of my favorite programs on my mac. I absolutely love it, it makes distraction free writing so much easier. Okay, the software is not for free, but it's very affordable. A small price for a great piece of software.
The only downside is that the integration with other applications doesn't work. I would love to be able to edit e-mails and bigger web forms in WriteRoom.
This is a great environment for writing. It's literally what the name says: a disclosed room for writing, completely loose from any distraction.
To bad this simple, yet convenient application has a price...
One of the best editors I own! Perfect for writing essays without the distractions of the rest of the desktop! :)
If anyone still has WriteRoom 1.0 (the simpler, free one), please let me know.
Purchased this because of the "distraction free writing" and indeed, as long as I can keep myself from switching windows to check my e-mail this is one of the best apps out there. Clean interface, you can adjust the colors and fonts to your liking and just start typing and never quit! Just three starts for the features because there hardly are any features! Love it or hate it. I can't decide.
Found it. JDarkRoom. Runs in Java just fine on my MacBook. And it's free.

There's a freeware app somewhere that does most of what WR does. Can't find it at the moment.
Really like this app. Gives me focus to actually work on copy.
It's actually just TextEdit with a nice Full Screen view. Doesn't work for me, I keep being distracted ;-)
WriteRoom has little to no features, that is the great thing about it. It forces you to totally focus on the text and not the layout.
