YaCy is a personal web search engine. You get your own web crawler and a link analysis tool. As your personal search engine you can use it to place a search widget on your home page to search your pages or pages that you selected to be indexed. In a peer-to-peer mode your YaCy peer can connect to other YaCy peers and create a distributed search engine. One installation can manage more than 20 million web pages, but in distributed mode YaCy can provide a web index of unlimited size. The public search network of YaCy peers containing more than one billion pages is fully distributed and cannot be censored because there is no central instance server.
