great program, i would rather use the Yahoo client insted of Trillan just to
get full use and function from it. the one thing is lacks is the ability to
group IM windows into one tabbed window.
It seemed better years ago, anyone I talk to on there has another messenger
program.. so it's rarely used.. Unless I'm on under someone else's name ruining
their life. The chats even went downhill... now -only- full of bots.
So far this is my least favorite chat client. Its slower than any other I've
used and it seems to be very buggy.
Its not terrible and it works. I don't use it much at all though and I
wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
One of 2 chat clients I find quite annoying but am forced to use because some
people refuse to use anything else.
The 'feature' that drives me nuts the most is how when you have your taskbar
on autohide, it flies out every time you get an incoming message and won't go
back in until you click the IM window to activate it. Yahoo messenger doesn't
give you a way to disable the taskbar button flashing, which is causing this
behavior.
I also don't like how if you have it set to load at startup, it can't just
start and log you in and sit nice in the tray like MSN does. It would rather pop
your contacts list onto your screen and force you to manually close it each
time.
I wish all my Yahoo using friends would upgrade to the latest version and add
my MSN info to their Yahoo lists so I won't have to run this crap any more. You
can add MSN contacts to your Yahoo now, if you upgrade. I shouldn't have to be
forced to use this any more just because they hate MSN and are too lazy to keep
their software up to date.
While this isn't the worst IM client I've ever used, it's far from usable for
anyone who runs more than one program at a time. I've never seen it consume less
than 40MB of RAM at any given time and the ads make it all the more annoying.
Quite honestly, you'd be better off with a stripped down multi-IM client like
Pidgin (aka. gaim) or trillian than deal with this. I mean, it's better than
AIM, but not by much.
One of the worst, crappiest, most buggy software that I've ever seen, even
the non-beta (final) version are behaving worse that I would expect from a BETA
software.
The least favorite IM program that no one is ever on, except foreigners.

Pretty good overall except for the following Unsupported Functionality:
1. Voice call encryption
2. PC-Phone (Multiple) Conference calls
3. Answering machine test call.
I find it works just fine, and integrates well with other Yahoo services.
crap. skype and msn much better.

I've tryed Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AIM Messenger but Yahoo! is the best one!
I only use this to play Launchcast music, as the regular launchcast player does not work in 64 bit environments. For instructions on using launchcast, see here:
