Zipeg is a freeware extraction program that works under Mac OS X and Windows. It is best known for its file preview ability. It is incapable of compressing files, although able to extract compressed ones. Support RAR, ZIP and other formats. Build on top of 7zip backend. UI implemented in Java and is open source.

    Great extraction tool. It saved my life when I had to to extract a file which contained Cyrillic characters and with a password. All the other programs I tried (UnrarX, StuffIt Expander…) completely mess up the file names or couldn't open the file. Ziped handles them perfectly ! Thanks !
