<text>Possibly the single most powerful app I've ever used. Most features still work under Vista, too. Development has halted and the web site is...lame, but this is a very mature product.</text>

Windows configuration and control software. Seemingly endless options: Create toolbars, menus, and tray icons, tile/cascade windows, configure scheduled tasks, create hotkeys, script actions...too many options to list here. Not for the feint of heart, but extremely powerful.

A well-rounded, very popular interface for playing chess on FICS (Free Internet Chess Server) or other online chess servers. Great for people getting started on FICS, as well as experienced players who want to get an interface with many options.

<text>This program is incredibly useful if you want to access Linux (or Solaris, or Unix, FreeBSD, etc) from Windows. I used Cygwin/X, but it seems to be no longer updated and on my computer use 100% CPU all the time doing absolutely nothing. Xming works perfectly and has more features.</text>

Xming is a small, fast open-source X server for windows, kept updated from X.org sources. Runs full-screen, windowed, or puts each X-hosted app in its own window. Can run securely through built-in SSH.
