I have a problem with installing Ubuntu 9.10 on VirtualBox. Help please! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/312690/ubuntuproblem.jpg
I tried hard installing and uninstalling, and doing other tricks. Wakoopa keeps telling that it cannot get the network connection and showing me proxy settings dialog. This only happens on Ubuntu computers in my network, while Windows and Fedora ones do not have this problem. I raised my voice against that here http://gsfn.us/t/edtq
@ Yuri Vyatkin @ brunoscunha I can get it to connect to Wakoopa, and it will track and display alerts, but for some reason it doesn't auto start on both Ubuntu 9.10 and Fedora 12, even as it is listed under Startup Applications, it just doesn't run.
Speaking of Fedora, I've had this problem both on Fedora 12 and back in Fedora 11, it's that I downloaded and installed the RPM file for version 1.1.1, but it keeps showing the update message saying that I have 1.1 and that the latest version is 1.1.1 and that I should update even after a fresh install of Wakoopa on a new Fedora installation. Seems like a bug with the version checker. Do you guys see that?
@ Yuri Vyatkin I have Wakoopa instaled on ubuntu 9.10 and it works really fine, unlike ubuntu one.
Perhaps uninstalling it and install again?
@ brunoscunha : Wakoopa works fine on Windows XP, Windows 7, Fedora 11/12 in the same network, but not on Ubuntu 9.10 it this network (that has no particular Firewall). I install Wakoopa immediately onto clean installations and it fails to connect complaining about proxy. I monitor getsatisfaction but still have no answer so far...
@ Yuri Vyatkin never experienced that. Perhaps some firewall settings?
Wakoopa fails to connect in Ubuntu 9.10 both 32- and 64 bit. This is a trouble, but otherwise Ubuntu has many improvements and advantages. For instance, I've just spent about a day struggling with nvidia driver in Fedora 12 with no luck. In Ubuntu it has been installed in a brink almost automatically.
You guys are right. The old version is better.
Feel free to post your comments here about Ubuntu!
pankamyk is right. 9.04 is better, at least for now, than 9.10.
Ubuntu 9.04 is better that 9.10 :P(
Ubuntu 9.10 已经发布了,不错
