    <text>It only just about does what it says - provides access to files that have been uploaded by others. 

Otherwise, this is abysmal, as far as file-hosting services go, thanks to insanely long waiting periods prior to downloading files (anything from a minute and a half for one-off downloads, to several hours when downloading multiple files in a set), and slow file transfers. If this is as good as free access gets, I'd hate to think about how &quot;Premium&quot; users are handled. 

If it wasn't the most popular service (next to MegaUpload, which also sucks) in terms of availability and range of files, then I'd stick with YouSendIt for downloading large files from various sources...</text>

    <text>Reasonably fast, cheap (US$2.00 + US$0.15/GB if you opt for the Mosso/RackSpace storage service), and it Just Works on Linux for archiving files using either the CLI or drag-and-drop in a file manager. What's not to like about it?</text>

    <text>It's what happens when you combine Orkut and MySpace - badly, and give the finished product a theme that looks suspiciously like some amateur Joomla theme. Of course, it has nowhere near as many &quot;useful&quot; applications as Facebook (they're more useless than the MySpace ones - and I have never used MySpace for any period of time), and it doesn't have the energy, dynamism and interestingness of FriendFeed.</text>
